James’ ‘Broken Strings’ is nominated for an Ivor Novello Award, in the category PRS For Music Most Performed Work. It’s up against Lily Allen’s ‘The Fear’ and Girls Aloud’s ‘The Promise’. The Ivors are internationally respected for honouring excellence in British music writing. They are judged and presented by the writing community and for over 50 years have been given annually to outstanding songwriters and composers. The 55th Ivor Novello Awards will take place on May 20 at the Grosvenor House in London.

‘Broken Strings’ is written by James himself, with Fraser T. Smith and Nina Woodford, is performed James featuring Nelly Furtado, and is published by Sony/ATV Music Publishing / Chrysalis Music.

Update: Unfortunately, the award did not go to James and ‘Broken Strings’. =(
