UNDISCOVERED

Info
Writers: James Morrison, Martin Brammer & Steve Robson
Albums:

‘Undiscovered’ is the title track of the album. James didn’t know what to call his album for a long time. It’s based on a friend who told him he felt lost and didn’t know what to do. James wrote him a song saying ‘I’m not lost, just undiscovered’, telling him that he will find his fulfillment. For James, the song summed up the feelings on the album. “All the songs were based around the idea that you are or have been close to something. The idea of undiscovered fulfillment and potential runs through all the songs.” In addition, nobody knew who James was then. He didn’t want his album to be pushed in people’s faces, but he wanted it to fall in their laps naturally, and let people find and discover it on their own and think ‘Who is this?’ He also wanted his album to sound like a lost not yet discovered album from a past time.

‘Undiscovered’ has been used in CBS’s Shark (s01e02), as well as in the movie ‘She’s Out Of My League’.

Lyrics
I look at you, you bite your tongue
You don’t know why or where I’m coming from
But in my head I’m close to you
We’re in the rain still searching for the sun

You think that I want to run and hide
That I keep it all locked up inside
But I just want you to find me

I’m not lost, not lost, just undiscovered
And when we’re alone
We are all the same as each other
You see the look that’s on my face
You might think I’m out of place
I’m not lost, no, no, just undiscovered

Well the time it takes to know someone
It all can change before you know it’s gone
So close your eyes feel the way I’m with you now
Believe there’s nothing wrong

You think that I wanna run and hide
I’ll keep it all locked up inside
But I just want you to find me

I’m not lost, I’m not lost, just undiscovered
And when we’re alone
We’re all the same as each other
You see the look that’s on my face
You might think I’m out of place
I’m not lost, no, no, just undiscovered

I’m not running
I’m not hiding
If you dig a little deeper you will find me

I’m not lost, not lost, just undiscovered
And when we’re alone
We’re all the same as each other
You see the look that’s on my face
You might think that I’m out of place
I’m not lost, no, no, undiscovered

Don’t you know that’s what we are
We’re the same as each other
You know we’re the same
You see the look that’s on my face
You might think that I’m out of place
I’m not lost, no, no, just undiscovered
